In the UK, a talent agent acts as the vital bridge between creative professionals (actors, musicians, writers, presenters, influencers) and the industry “buyers” who want to hire them (casting directors, production companies, brands, publishers).

Unlike in the US, where there is a strict legal separation between an agent (who procures work) and a manager (who guides the career), the UK entertainment industry usually rolls both of these responsibilities into one. A UK talent agent is essentially a day-to-day business manager, career strategist, and legal protector all in one. We work hard in partnership with our talent to plan, strategise and develop their creative careers.

For actors, this can mean suggesting and securing them auditions or meetings for casting opportunities, and then managing the ensuing process to hopefully secure a job! For presenters and experts, this can mean identifying specific events or sectors to pitch them to and working on all other screen and media opportunities.

Actors: We operate as a Sole Agent for Acting, most of our actors are exclusively represented by us, with a few exceptions such as Voiceover agents and US management where we work collaboratively.

Presenters, Speakers & Experts: We either operate on a Talent Management basis (all enquiries to us/ your team) or a more general Booking basis.

Here’s an overview of talent management for actors, speakers, and presenters:

For Actors

Casting and Auditions:
Talent management for actors begins with casting and auditions. Talent agents and managers help actors secure auditions for roles that match their skills and interests. They provide guidance on preparing for auditions and selecting the right projects.

Career Development:
Talent managers work closely with actors to develop their careers. This involves identifying opportunities for roles that align with the actor’s strengths and goals. They may advise on training, workshops, and networking to enhance an actor’s skills and industry presence.

Contract Negotiations:
Talent managers assist actors in negotiating contracts for film, television, and theatre projects. They ensure that actors receive fair compensation, favourable terms, and opportunities for career growth.

Public Relations and Branding:
Talent managers help actors build and manage their public image and brand. They may advise on publicity, social media presence, and promotional activities to raise an actor’s profile in the industry.

Project Selection:
Talent managers provide guidance on selecting projects that align with an actor’s career trajectory. They consider factors such as script quality, director, co-stars, and potential impact on the actor’s career.

For Speakers & Presenters

Topic Selection and Expertise:
Talent management for speakers and presenters begins with identifying their areas of expertise and topics they are passionate about. Managers help speakers define their niche and target audience.

Training and Skill Enhancement:
Talent managers may recommend training and skill development opportunities to improve a speaker’s presentation skills, storytelling ability, and stage presence. This could involve public speaking courses, media training, or speech coaching.

Booking Engagements:
Talent managers work to secure speaking engagements for their clients. They identify conferences, seminars, and events that align with the speaker’s expertise and arrange bookings.

Fee Negotiation:
Talent managers assist speakers in negotiating speaking fees and contractual terms. They aim to ensure that speakers are compensated fairly for their time and expertise.

Marketing and Promotion:
Talent managers help speakers build their personal brand and promote their speaking services. This includes website development, social media marketing, and creating promotional materials.

Event Logistics:
Managers handle logistical aspects of speaking engagements, such as travel arrangements, accommodation, and technical requirements, to ensure a seamless presentation.

Client Relationships
Talent managers maintain relationships with event organizers, conference planners, and clients to secure repeat engagements and referrals.
